How do I find a small group

Get supported. Get challenged. Get encouraged. Small groups provide a regular time and place to build lasting friendships, learn about God, engage in accountability and have a lot of fun.
For most churches, small groups are where the real life-changing teaching and understanding happen. It’s a safe place where you can talk openly about your own journey—your trials and your triumphs—and be encouraged from stories shared by others. It’s the best place to track your walk with the Lord, receive prayer for the journey and apply the wisdom of the Bible to your daily life.
If you’re not in a group now, and don’t know where to begin to find one, try taking these simple steps:
1. Pray.
Ask God to direct you to a small group that would be the right fit for you. Seek His guidance for helping you choose a small group wisely and ask Him to open your heart to the biblical truths you will learn and the friendships you will make.
2. Contact your church.
If you are connected to a church, contact your pastor or church office to see what small groups are taking place.
If you’re not in a church, you can still find a small group. In fact, finding a group is a great way of ultimately finding a church you feel comfortable in! Ask around for recommendations from Christians you know. Search the internet or a phone book for churches in your zip code. Call them, and ask if they are a Purpose Driven church or know if one is nearby. A little hunting will go a long way.
3. Make a commitment.
Finding a small group is easier than making the commitment to attend it faithfully. So much goes week to week, and to make the most of it, you should plan to make it a priority. Take the leap of faith to attend and your faith will deepen, you will build encouraging friendships, and you will grow closer to God.
